- Abstract
In order to study the effect of vertical cyclic load on the uplift bearing capacity of pile foundations, the influence of the number of cycles under cyclic load and the ratio of cyclic load on the cyclic displacement ratio was analyzed based on on-site experiments. The relationship between the uplift coefficient under cyclic load and the cyclic displacement ratio was summarized, and a calculation model for the uplift bearing capacity of pile foundations based on the cyclic displacement ratio was established. The results show the bearing capacity of pile foundation decays faster under cyclic loading than that under single pull-out load, and the calculation methods of bearing capacity of pile foundation are not equivalent in two cases. The cyclic load ratio and the number of cycles have a significant impact on the pile foundation's bearing capability, the bearing capacity of the pile foundation is significantly reduced when the cyclic pull-out cycle count exceeds 2 or the cyclic pull-out load ratio exceeds 5∶ 4. The attenuation of the pile foundation's bearing capacity is amplified by the cyclic displacement ratio. The attenuation rate of the pile foundations bearing capacity is 50% when the cyclic displacement ratio is 0. 8, therefore, the cyclic displacement ratio should be reasonably managed in actual engineering. Calculation model of bearing capacity of pile foundation under cyclic loading in loess foundation is proposed, the case shows that the uplift carrying capacity calculated by the new model and the measured value only differ by a little amount, which verifies the accuracy and reliability of the model. The research results provide a valuable reference for the calculation of uplift bearing capacity of pile foundation under cyclic loading.
