- Abstract
In order to evaluate the safety of the V-shaped floating body under the influence of wind, waves, currents and other environmental factors, and achieve the safe mooring of the V-shaped floating body, two different mooring plans are designed with reference to the basic principles of the OCIMF conventional ship dock mooring, which are the use of the two vertical edges of the dock for the mooring and the one sheet of the V-shaped floating body with the straight edge of the dock for the mooring, respectively. Based on the three-dimensional potential flow theory, AQWA software is applied to analyze the frequency-domain hydrodynamic performance of the V-shaped floating body, and its six-degree-of-freedom kinematic response, mooring cable tension and fender pressure are obtained through time-domain coupled simulation, and the mooring system is safety-checked for different angles of environmental loads. By comparison, it is concluded that the mooring using the one sheet of the V-shaped floating body with the straight edge of the dock is superior to the mooring using the two vertical edges of the dock. The influence of water displacement and cable specification on the mooring system is analyzed, and in order to improve the safety of the mooring system, measures such as reducing the water displacement and changing the nylon cable to Dyneema cable can be taken.
