Saturn in 1998-'99.
- Authors
McKim, Richard
- Abstract
Saturn was well placed for observation from the UK in this apparition. Although its atmosphere was relatively quiet at telescopic levels of resolution, it was possible to track quite small features at several different latitudes, and so measure wind speeds in the SSTeZ/SSTB, STropZ, SEB(S), EZ(S), EB and EZ(N).The white ovals in the EZ again moved in the slow equatorial current that had been apparent since 1994. The retreating N. hemisphere of the planet continued to show a bluish colour in contrast to the warm-toned southern globe.
