- Abstract
In this article, the author reflects on decolonialist wrier Frantz Fanon's "historico-racial schema" regarding the Black body and shares a personal experience in teaching English as a second language in China. She discusses her interest in studying children's text creations and understanding the complex resources that they bring into the classroom. The author ponders on how English language arts (ELA) curricula could reflect underrepresented students of color.
