- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 54-year-old African–American woman who was admitted to the emergency room with multiple painful, ecchymotic lesions on her trunk and extremities. She also had diabetes mellitus type II and hypertension. She returned to the emergency room two weeks later with large polycyclic patches on the trunk and upper arms, after being discharged on ointments. She was diagnosed with antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) with purpura fulminans (PF)-like lesions.
