The article provides a reflection on the poetic artistry of Lenard D. Moore, specifically on the creation of the African American Haiku form. It demonstrates Moore's use of the discipline of haiku which reawakens curiosity on why some African American poets invest in Americanizing forms from other cultures. It points out that his haiku captures the time when several African Americans keep in perfect step with each other.
