- Abstract
The article discusses the concept of Black Study and its various interpretations and purposes. The author, Joshua Myers, argues that Black Study encompasses the study of Black peoples, Black place, Black meaning, as well as the study of racism and Blackness as otherness. Myers critiques the current state of Black Study in academia, highlighting its limitations and its role in perpetuating hegemony. The article also explores the influence of Black intellectuals and their contributions to the field. Overall, the article presents a critical examination of Black Study and its significance in challenging Western modes of knowledge production.
