- Authors
Goldberg, Amy J.; Vanett, Bruce; Au, Francis C.
- Abstract
The article describes a method for eliminating the risk of premature or accidental dislocation of a finger splint. The interposing of an elastic band between the splint and a fixed object such as a Velcro band is the key design feature of this method. Information on the steps involved in fixing one end of the rubber band to the splint is provided. Also included are details on the use of this method on a 69-year-old Parkinson's disease patient who sustained a finger injury following a fall.
