- Abstract
The article discusses several U.S. banking industry legal cases which deal with topics such as California's Unfair Competition Law, the U.S. Home Owners' Loan Act, and violations of New Mexico's Unfair Practices Act. Debtor's claims and mortgagee-bank fraud are addressed in a 2014 legal matter involving the Settlers' Housing Services Inc. firm. A Pennsylvania statute which requires the recording of mortgage assignments is examined, along with a bank's foreclosure rights.
