- Abstract
The article discusses a study performed to determine the diagnostic accuracy of three minimally invasive techniques for performing endoscopic staging-- transbronchial aspiration (TBNA), endobronchial ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration (EBUS-FNA), and transesophageal endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration (EUS-FNA). Results showed EBUS-FNA to be more sensitive than TBNA, and that a combination of EUS and EBUS holds promise for whole, minimally invasive mediastinal staging for persons suspected of having lung cancer.
