- Abstract
This article comments on psychological stress and the belief it may lead to disease. Psychological stress is defined as when a person believes that environmental demands exceed his or her adaptive capacity. It is possible that stress triggers biological processes and/or alters behavioral patterns that influence disease risk. The authors say while definite proof of causation is not available there is a strong link between stress and disease.
