- Abstract
The main objective of this paper is to highlight specific aspects and salient characteristics of the commercial practice of Jacinto de Castro in the commercial circuit Río de la Plata region-Santiago in the Kingdom of Chile in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. Through this case study we can approach the commercial logics that occurred in the commercial activity related to the sale of brandy, slaves, and yerba mate. The sources used are the business and private letters of Jacinto de Castro, which allow us to reconstruct his business biography. The work carried out does not reach conclusions, but it does present different commercial logics followed by this actor, which allow us to understand some of the commercial practices of the old regime.
