The article focuses on the ethical issues concerning the field of nursing. It discusses the Western oriented values, concepts and theories, which influence the nursing practice, and presents the various problems faced in imposing Western nursing ethics methodology in non-Western nursing cultural contexts. It discusses the universal application of theoretical foundations of nursing ethics, and states that nurse theorist Madeleine Leininger has opposed the universalism of nursing ethics.
