- Title
Using multiple 'omics strategies for novel therapies in sepsis.
- Authors
Russell, James A.; Spronk, Peter; Walley, Keith R.
- Abstract
The authors discuss the use of multi-'omics strategies, referring to the measurement and examination of associations of at least two types of 'omics variables, from genomics, lipidomics, proteomics to metabolomics, in sepsis treatment. They explain their proposed method of inverting the standard drug discovery sequence by starting with human 'omics, confirming mechanisms in models and then making go/no-go decisions for potential targets for clinical development.
