- Authors

- Abstract
The article reports on a study conducted by Karnadet al. which have used the molecule ulinastatin in an effort to block the activity of the biochemical triggers of sepsis and septic shock. Topics discussed include randomized controlled trials which have shown that neither protocol-based resuscitation nor the use of albumin benefit patients with severe sepsis, and the importance of early recognition and immediate initiation of effective antibiotic therapy.
