Peace entrepreneurship is introduced as a conceptual lens to analyse the role of the private sector in peacebuilding in conflict and post-conflict societies. Using the informal economy in Democratic Republic of Congo as an example we explore the economic development implications of peace entrepreneurship as a requirement for the growth and development of entrepreneurial activities and fostering peace in the region.
