- Abstract
The article profiles Abe Abuchowski. He is the first to have biotech industry work in the market and discover the therapeutic potential of proteins as immunizing agents. Abuchowski has finished doctoral research in biochemistry in 1971 in Rutgers University under the advisory of Frank Davis which suggests to him that polyethylene glycol (PEG) widely used in foods and cosmetics. In his study, he further showed that PEG can be transformed into a protein capable of reducing immunogenicity.
