- Abstract
The article presents highlights of several research papers presented in various scientific journals. The differences between the ears of contemporary maize, its wild ancestor teosinte, and their hybrid are analyzed. Time-resolved X-ray absorption spectroscopy have been used to monitor the kinetics of photosynthetic oxygen evolution by photosystem II. Researchers have tried to connect data on the effects of drugs on isolated proteins with their effects on whole animals or organs. Knockdown technology have been used to silence microRNA and mRNA. Researchers have devised an approach for purifying genetically modified stem cells using fluorescent markers and fluorescent-activated cell sorting.
