The article discusses narratives of national identity in Great Britain, referred to as Britishness, during the 2012 Olympic Games held in London, England, as expressed in the "Western Mail," which is the national newspaper of Wales. Topics include the performance of Welsh athletes and Team Great Britain (GB) in the Olympics, British identity, and the cultural impact of large-scale international sporting events.
