- Abstract
This article focuses on the Federation Dentaire Internationale (FDI) or World Dental Federation which aims to help promote the importance of good oral health. The various categories of FDI membership include Regular, Associate, Affiliate, Supporting and Individual. Its main objectives are to bring together the world of dentistry, to represent the dental profession of the world, and to stimulate and facilitate information exchange across all borders, as well as to promote optimal oral and general health for all people. FDI, founded in Paris, France in 1900, is the second oldest international health association to the Red Cross. Its annual World Dental Parliament attracts thousands of participants.
