The article examines the fundamentals and developments of bankruptcy law in the U.S. The Congress has recently enacted the most sweeping changes to the Bankruptcy Code since its original enactment in 1978. The Supreme Court proved unable to provide meaningful guidance on the interest rate issue in the bankruptcy law, yet Congress stayed its hand.
