- Authors
DeBruin, Nathaniel
- Abstract
The article offers information related to the creation of an Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) unit in the campus of Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, in 1950. It highlights that the success of the CPTP (Civilian Pilot Training Program) at Marshall, the presence of the Army Air Force's 47th CTD (College Training Detachment) during the war, and the positive influence of veterans, demonstrated that a military presence on campus was compatible with higher education.
