- Abstract
The article discusses the emergence of organizational forms, and its implication on organizational identity and identification. It notes the significant role of environments and resources in the establishment and maintenance of organizational forms. It explores processes of individual identification and collective identity development that precede and promote cluster formation. It also cites the potential of community involvement to risk prior investments of entrepreneurs in careers, reputation and status. Furthermore, it presents an identity development model derived from theories related to storytelling, social movement, and organizational ecology.
