- Title
THE MISADVENTURES OF L.L.HILL.
- Abstract
The article discusses the career and life of daguerreotypist Levi L. Hill, one of the pioneers of color photography. In 1850, Hill published the second edition of his book "Treatise on Daguerreotype: The Magic Buff and other improvements," which introduced the color process in photography. In 1856, Hill published the book "A Treatise on Heliochromy," which provided directions for making a Hillotype. However, it has been noted that the directions in the book were complicated and confusing that they appear worthless to photographers.
