- Abstract
The article discusses medical principles and historical evolution of palliative care. It mentions the creation of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (HPM) subspecialty in September 2006. It considers providing medical explanations to the patients, families, and healthcare administrators as one of the greatest challenges faced by palliative medicine practitioners. It adds that end-of-life care is one of the most evident flaws that occur in palliative medicine.
