- Abstract
The article discusses a study on the detection of three cryptic submicroscopic imbalances in a complex chromosome rearrangement (CCRs) by using the array-comparative genomic hybridization (CGH). According to the authors, the study gives evidence that apparently balanced CCRs categorized by conventional cytogenetic techniques may host additional chromosomal imbalances which are not always situated at the breakpoints. It cites that the CGH is considered a useful tool for detecting and mapping cryptic submicroscopic imbalances.
