- Abstract
The article focuses on a study on the possible genetic correlation between the development rate and pathogen resistance in Drosophila melanogaster. Time to death in the presence and absence of growing escherichia coli (E. coli) culture on virgin male and female flies was examined. Results found that the mean time to death of the faster developing flies was lower compared to the control flies in the presence and absence of E. coli. Lower pathogen resistance was also observed in faster developing populations.
