- Abstract
The article focuses on a study which aims to unveil genetic diversity of maize landraces from Wuling mountain region in China with simple sequence repeats (SSR) markers and evaluate the genetic structure and associations among individuals of landraces. It cites that knowledge of the amount of genetic variation among maize landraces will offer a guide for predicting the variation that is important for maize breeding. It notes that the genetic variability of maize landraces has been influenced by several factors throughout their evolutionary history.
