- Abstract
The article focuses on the appropriate use of vortex breakers at tank outlets in order to avoid entrained vapors from following downstream. The vortex breaker design from Process Industry Practices is used by Eastman Chemical Co. as the company standard which relies on a baffle arrangement. The company's need to place a bottom nozzle assessed for potential gas entrainment wherein the column was retrofit with a higher expected capacity is mentioned.
