- Abstract
Viral infections of the central nervous system (CNS) constitute a significant proportion of infective ailments either in the form of meningitis or encephalitis, or both. They utilised quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR), both one-step and two-step, to determine the causative agent viz. cytomegalovirus (CMV), Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), varicella-zoster virus (VZV), Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV), dengue virus, West Nile virus (WNV), and Chandipura virus.
