DOE Proposes Rule to Promote Federal Procurement of Energy Efficient Products.
- Abstract
The article reports that the U.S. Department of Energy has proposed regulations that would promote the federal procurement of energy-efficient products. It discusses that the rules would demand federal agencies to report on their implementation of the National Energy Conservation Policy ACT (NECPA). Agencies were also required to purchase ENERGY STAR-qualified and Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP)-designated products in procurements that involve energy consuming products and systems.
