- Title
Consequences of diagnostic delays in type 1 Gaucher disease: the need for greater awareness among hematologistsoncologists and an opportunity for early diagnosis and intervention.
- Abstract
The article reports on the study on the consequences of delays in diagnosing type 1 Gaucher disease (GD). In an interview of hematologists and oncologists, only four percent of physicians considered GD in the differential diagnosis. It adds that the authors of the study determine that awareness of lysosomal storage diseases, particularly GD, needs to be raised among hematologists.
