A biography of Alexander MacKenzie (Sandy) Rankin, an Australian physician who left his mark on Africa, is presented. He had a zeal for offering medical aid to developing nations like Africa. He was also appointed as director of Dar es Salaam medical school and also served as a world health representative at Vietnam and Seoul. His untimely death in 1980 robbed the world of a medical activist for the developing nations.
