- Abstract
The article discusses the court case Friends of Animals v. Haaland wherein the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit has removed a barrier to petitioning a species to be listed as endangered or threatened under the Endangered Species Act (ESA). Topics include the significance of the decision to grazing policy, the impact of overgrazing on the ecosystem and the court's ruling that the Fish and Wildlife Service rule on listing endangered species such as wild horse is inconsistent with ESA.
