- Abstract
The article analyzes the impact of public defender fees on the U.S. juvenile justice system. Topics discussed include the importance of counsels for juveniles in the rehabilitative purpose of the juvenile justice system and the right of a juvenile to counsel, the use of the contribution and recoupment methods to collect the cost of court-appointed counsel and public defenders, and the benefit of removing the effect of parents on the child-counsel dynamic.
