- Authors
Brennan, Christopher R.
- Abstract
The article discusses the relationship between the Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and electronic communications as of April 2012, focusing on the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling in the case Katz v. U.S. which deals with the legal aspects of a seizure of electronic communications. The court in Katz determined that the Fourth Amendment's protection against unlawful seizures reportedly applies to people, but not to places. The seizure of business records is also addressed.
