The article discusses the concept of Soviet gnomic, which the author defines as the use of generalized or generic statements by the leadership of the Soviet Union under Joseph Stalin as slogans. Topics discussed include the use of Soviet gnomic in Soviet government-publications "Bolshevik" and "Pravda," the work of Swedish linguist Östen Dahl, and the relationship between existential generalizations in Soviet gnomics.
