- Abstract
This essay presents an analysis of the poem "News for the Delphic Oracle," one of the final poems written by the 20th-century Irish author William Butler Yeats. A critical examination into the form and themes of the work is provided, highlighting its sense of tragedy, comparisons between it and his other poem "The Statues," and its use of the literary trope of the satyr play.
