- Title
Cumulative Effects of Barriers on the Movements of Forest Birds.
- Authors

- Abstract
The article discusses a study which examined the movements of forest birds in the Bow Valley of Banff National Park, Alberta. The birds studied are Yellow-rumped Warbler, Golden-crowned Kinglet and Red-breasted Nuthatch. Results showed that forest cover along the potential routes taken by the homing birds was correlated across spatial scales. The birds took longer to return to their territories when they were translocated across the barriers. Nuthatches returned faster to their territories when they were translocated across the valley. The effect of landscape configuration on homing time did not decrease over time.
