- Title
DID GOSCELIN WRITE THE EARLIEST LIFE OF EDWARD THE CONFESSOR?
- Authors
BEARE, RHONA
- Abstract
The article explores Frank Barlow's translation "The Life of King Edward Who Rests at Westminster," based on the Old English poem "Vita Edwardi Regis." The author explores the authorship of the piece, to whom Barlow asserts is a monk of Saint Bertin, probably either Goscelin or Folcard. Using attributed writings of Goscelin, Folcard, and Reginald of Canterbury, she determines the author of Edward's Life is Goscelin.
