- Abstract
Organizational resilience scales have been adapted to the hospital context. To prepare for high consequence infectious diseases (HCID), the Long Hospital Resilience Scale (L-HRS; N=48) was tested in two German hospitals in 2019 and the Short Hospital Resilience Scale (S‑HRS; N=317) after the first wave of COVID-19. Results show reliability of both the long and the short version. The L-HRS is associated with satisfaction with hospital preparation for HCID. S‑HRS shows a perceived better adaptation of hospitals during COVID-19 and is related to higher self-efficacy of hospital staff. Both scales identify opportunities to promote resilience at various levels in the hospital.
