- Abstract
This article, based on bibliographic research, aims, through a historicized reading, to analyse the resistances to the recongnition of the scientificity of feminism by part of Brazilian feminists and academics based on the fields theory developed by the french sociologist Pierre Bourdieu. For the better understanding of the central theme, it is initially developed a succint narrative about the history of feminism and its path through the social, political and scientific fields. The result of the dialogue established with Bourdieu’s theory is that resistances to the recognition of the scientificity of feminism in the Brazilian feminist and academic fields are natural, as the agents that integrate such fields are in permanent dispute for privileged positions and the denial or inferiorization of what is new and different figures as strategies, albeit unconscious, to maintain dominance. Despite such resistances, the accumulation os scientific attributes for the academic legitimacy of feminsm in Brazil is undeniable, which corroborates Bourdieu’s emphasis on the fact that fields are not static, being in constant mutation.
