- Abstract
The article focuses on creating a critical framework called the Araminta Approach to improve outcomes in the lives of Black women with histories of incarceration. Topics include the use of the Strong Black Woman (SBW) schema as the critical framework, the validation process involving focus groups with Black women affected by the criminal justice system, and the challenges these women face in striving to be excellent caregivers and courageous self-advocates.
