- Abstract
The article presents a literary criticism of the novel "The Third Policeman," by Flann O'Brien. Topics discussed include O'Brien's literary experiments in nonsensical works, a comparison of O'Brien's works with those from Universities of Cambridge, and Oxford's contemporary review of nonsense literature. An analysis of O'Brien's investigation of the relationship between nonsense and ordinary language in the novel is also offered.
