- Abstract
Introduction: the family is the scenario in which adolescents who consume drugs build or destroy aspects related to their personality; this statement has to do with elements that are part of the daily dynamics such as: family communication, parenting processes and prevention and risk strategies that they generate in their life practice. The objective behind this reflection article is to make a bet against the protective factors at family level that mitigate the risk of drug consumption in adolescence stage. The methodology is qualitative with a hermeneutical approach in terms of reflection that allows families and adolescents to find common views in the processes of interaction and reduce risk factors. The theme of consumption is developed around the significance of the family core and the prevention practices to build a common place, which unites and motivates the affective participation of each family member. It is important to note that prevention of difficulties arises after reflexivity and family bonds. As a main result, it stands out the family core and the psychoeducational processes inherent in the parental world along with the support of other external factors. As a conclusion of this reflective article, it is found that communication, parenting practices in the family fabric are the key factors to reconstruct and construct adolescents free of drug consumption. Therefore, establishing family ties become a fundamental input to work with families along with more democratization processes.
