- Title
Fly‐In Advocacy Makes a Difference.
- Authors
Norris, Nate
- Abstract
The article discusses the Water Utility Council's annual advocacy event, the Water Matters! Fly-In, where delegates from all 50 states meet with their congressional representatives to discuss important water sector issues. The Fly-In is a crucial part of the American Water Works Association's advocacy strategy, as it provides local perspectives that can persuade Congress to take action. The article highlights several potential advocacy issues, including the need for polluters to pay for cleaning up PFAS contamination, the establishment of a co-regulatory model for cybersecurity in the water sector, full funding for the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund, and the authorization of a permanent program to assist low-income water customers.
