- Abstract
This document is a reply to a letter commenting on a previously published paper titled "Genetically predicted body mass index and maternal outcomes of pregnancy: A two‐sample Mendelian randomisation study." The authors of the paper thank the commenters for their input and explain the rationale for including postpartum depression in their study. They acknowledge the limitations of their study, including the lack of large-scale genome-wide association studies on pregnancy outcomes and the broad case definition used for postpartum depression. The authors agree with the commenters that further analyses are needed with improved specificity in case definition. The document concludes with information about the authors' contributions, funding, conflict of interest, and ethics approval.
