- Abstract
This study seeks to know the "emergence and development of military and security journalism in Yemen". The researcher reviewed the problem of the study, its importance, the objectives it seeks to achieve, and the questions it is trying to answer. This study falls under historical descriptive studies, as an organized effort to obtain various data and information by monitoring the first beginnings of these newspapers through direct meetings with the newspaper editorial board, in addition to searching for historical documents and scientific sources that confirm this. The researcher then determined the sample of the study from the newspapers through a comprehensive inventory of all the press releases of newspapers, magazines and military and security bulletins issued in Yemen during the period from 1962 to 2010. The researcher also designed a questionnaire containing questions that were distributed to the officials of the military and security press and the editorial board of these newspapers, to know the origin and development of the military and security press and the difficulties encountered during the issuance. The answers to the questions were obtained by interviewing officials directly during their presence in the Held. Interviews aimed to answer the questions in the direct interview forms to get information for the purpose of achieving the objectives of the study. The theoretical side of the study dealt with the specialized press in general and the military press in particular, especially its development in the Arab and international worlds and the stages it goes through. Finally, the researcher reviewed the results of the study, which answered the researcher's questions. Regarding the question related to monitoring the first beginnings of the military and security press in Yemen from 1962 to 2010, the result indicated that there were more than 30 publications of newspapers, magazines and military and security bulletins issued in Yemen before Yemeni unification on May 22, 1990.1n addition ,the researcher summarized the conclusion which included the findings of the study.
