- Abstract
An essay is presented on the role that just-price theory has played in the discipline of economics in regards to compulsion and the moral actions of humans. It focuses on the theologian Juan de Lugo and his impact on the foundation of scientific economic theory his treatise "De Iustitia et Iure." It reports on Lugo's thoughts regarding the role of price in rational economics and explores ways in which Scholastic thinkers were influenced by natural law, justice, and private property.
