- Abstract
The aim of this study is to examine the opinions of preschool teachers about classroom management strategies and the functionality of preschool curriculum in eliminating disruptive behaviors. Phenomenology design, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the study. The study group consists of eight teachers working in preschool education institutions in Amasya in 2018-2019 academic year. In the study, semi-structured interview form was used and inductive analysis was used for data analysis. According to the findings obtained from the study, teachers stated that bullying behaviors such as pushing and hitting were seen frequently and to apply traditional ways to eliminate these behaviors, few teachers stated that various measures were taken by attracting children to different areas. Teachers believe that programs are inadequate to eliminate distruptive behaviors. In future studies, it may be suggested to carry out teacher trainings on prevention of unwanted behaviors and effective classroom management both theoretical and practical.
